American Red Cross holds annual CPR Saturday event

Northwest Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross will host their annual CPR Saturday event to educate the community on the importance of CPR on Saturday, April 9 at Berry College. The event will be from noon until 4 p.m..

The event has been made possible through support from sponsors, including Redmond Regional Medical Center and Cartersville Medical Center, Coosa Valley Federal Credit Union and Mohawk Industries.

Free adult CPR training and certification will be offered, and participants will learn about other opportunities to become more involved with the Northwest Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross.

"Knowing how to perform CPR is an essential life skill," Volunteer Director, Sharman Turner said. "At CPR Saturday, participants will have the opportunity to receive free CPR training in small groups from qualified instructors and watch instructional videos.†They'll learn how to recognize an emergency, call for help and take appropriate action in performing CPR."
