Shorter Professor tapped to serve on national advisory board

(Media Release) Nancy Mount, assistant professor of business at Shorter
University's Robert H. Ledbetter College of Business, was selected to serve
as a member of the national faculty advisory committee for Students In Free
Enterprise (SIFE).

The faculty advisory committee serves as the primary liaison between the
SIFE organization and the participating SIFE teams in the United States. The
primary objective of the committee is to enhance SIFE programming activities
including training, mentor development, the development of options to
increase student participation and the development of integrated SIFE
programs on college and university campuses.

Mount began Shorter's SIFE program three years ago and serves as faculty
advisor. SIFE, a non-profit worldwide organization, is a diverse network of
university students, academic professionals and industry leaders who are
dedicated to the mission of creating a better, more sustainable world
through the positive power of business. The Shorter SIFE team, under Mount's
direction, has garnered several accolades over the last few years. In 2009,
the Shorter SIFE team was honored for outstanding performance and was named
"Rookie of the Year." In 2010, they earned first place in the regional
Campbell's Soup "Let's Can Hunger Drive," collecting more than 2,000 cans of
food that were donated to a local food pantry.

A resident of Cartersville, Mount has been a full-time member of the Shorter
faculty for three years. Prior to that, she served as an adjunct professor
at Shorter for 10 years. She holds a degree in management from Shorter and a
master's in management from Faulkner University. Mount is working toward
completing her doctoral degree.
