(Media release) Jagdeep Singh, MD, and Janet Ross, NP, COHN, APRN, have been named Certified Medical Provider Workers' Compensation Professionals (MPWCP) by the Georgia State Board of Worker's Compensation.
Both Dr. Singh and Ross have been at Redmond for three years, Ross serving at Redmond Family Care at Rockmart and Dr. Singh at Redmond Family Care at Cedartown, and have a combined total of more than forty years of medical experience. Dr. Singh previously held the position of Chief of Staff at Polk Medical Center and has been in healthcare for more than twelve years while Ross has been in healthcare for thirty years.
As a Certified Medical Provider Workers' Compensation Professional (MPWCP), the provider demonstrates expertise in providing quality treatment of injured workers and participation in Redmond Occupational Health's Comprehensive Injury Management Program.
In order to receive this prestigious certification, healthcare workers have to complete the Georgia Worker's Compensation Provider training program. This training is done online and completion demonstrates that the medical provider has a higher understanding of the worker's compensation system in Georgia.
Dr. Singh and Ross become Redmond's first primary care providers to complete the training and will be listed in Georgia's State Board of Workers' Compensation provider database for employers to select knowledgeable and competent physicians for their panel designated to treat injured workers.
Dr. Singh completed his residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, New Jersey, an affiliate of Mount Sinai School of Medicine at New York University where he specialized in Internal Medicine. He completed medical school at Bombay University in India.
Ross received her Bachelor's of Science at Valdosta State and coupled that with a Master's in Nursing at Kennesaw State. She is a Certified Occupational Health Nurse as well as a Case Manager.
Dr. Singh is a member of the American College of Physicians and Ross is active in Rotary International and in the past served as the president for the Polk /Rockmart chapter.
These two healthcare providers exhibit a sincere and heartfelt desire to give back to the community through their occupations. Helping people and working in the community that she resides in is something the Ross said she loves about her job, and Dr. Singh explained that seeing a variety of challenging medical problems and seeing patients recover is his passion.
Ross and her husband, Russell, live in Rockmart, Georgia. Her son Jeremy Ross is married to Dr. Amanda Smith Ross.
Dr. Singh is married to Nancy Johal, who is a special education teacher with the Floyd county school system. They reside in Rome.
