Exchange Club's Speech Contest Winner

The Exchange Club of Rome has selected the student to represent them at the Georgia District Exchange Clubs Convention this summer.  On Friday, March 26, at the Exchange Club's weekly meeting, four students from surrounding schools participated in the Exchange Club's annual Citizenship Speech Contest.  The speech subject is chosen by each contestant.  No limitation is imposed on the selection of the speech subject or title except that the speech must carry a positive theme of patriotism, relate to the American way of life, or encourage continuance of the American democratic form of government.
 

Amanda Holliday, from Model High School, won the contest.  She will receive $500 from the Exchange Club of Rome. 

 

Will Bowling from Armuchee High School, Kyle Hubbard from Coosa High School, and Casey Kean from Pepperell High School will each receive $100. 

 

Amanda Holliday, will go on the represent the Exchange Club of Rome in St. Simons, June 19, at the Georgia District Exchange Clubs Convention.

The Exchange Club of Rome meets at noon on Fridays at the Palladium on the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds.  It is one of the largest and oldest Exchange Clubs in the nation. Exchange, America's Service Club, is a group of men and women working together to make our communities better places to live through programs of service in Americanism, Community Service, Youth Activities, and its national project, the Prevention of Child Abuse.
