Exchange Club's Book of Golden Deeds

(Media release) The Exchange Club of Rome is using an old vehicle to honor young people:  the Book of Golden Deeds is a time honored award with which the Exchange Club of Rome has paid homage to many local heroes.  With it, many individuals who constantly donate their time and resources to benefit others, have been recognized.  This year, the targeted individuals are young people, between the ages of 17-34.  "We feel that there are many successful programs in place to honor the best amongst us, but nothing to recognize and thank the young people who selflessly donate of their time and of themselves to help others," says Exchange Club President, Ted Noe.  "The young people are our future, and we need to thank them and encourage them now."

The Exchange Club of Rome will honor this year's recipient at their weekly meeting, on Friday, April 30, noon, at the Palladium.  The recipient will receive a cash prize of $500.  Deadline for nominations is Friday, April 23, 2010, and need to be sent to Exchange Club of Rome, P.O. Box 1184, Rome, Georgia 30162-1184.  For additional questions on the Book of Golden Deeds, contact Wanda Whitten (706) 506-0043 or Jackie Moreland (706) 346-8824.

The Exchange Club of Rome meets at noon on Fridays at the Palladium on the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds.  It is one of the largest and oldest Exchange Clubs in the nation. Exchange, America's Service Club, is a group of men and women working together to make our communities better places to live through programs of service in Americanism, Community Service, Youth Activities, and its national project, the Prevention of Child Abuse.
