Alzheimer's Association Announces 2010 Memory Walk Champions
ROME, Ga, March 26, 2010: The Alzheimer's Association of Georgia has announced its champions for the 2010 Memory Walk to be held Saturday, September 18 at Berry College.
The Memory Walk supports the Alzheimer's Association of Georgia which is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research, and is dedicated to finding prevention methods, treatments and an eventual cure for the disease. In 2009, Georgia raised more than $1.5 million with more than 1,000 teams and over 8,000 Georgians participating on behalf of the 200,000 Georgian's living with Alzheimer's disease.
The Co-Chairs for this year's walk include: Matt Davis of Talk Radio WLAQ & The Ridge 95.7, Charisse Durham of Right at Home and Lisa Jarrell of Cedar Hills Senior living Community. Committee members include: April Drew of United Home Care, Redonna Branton of Health field Home Health, Connie Anderson of Coosa Valley Home Health, Pam Graves and Izella Whetstone of Amedisys, Brooke Callaway of United Hospice, Jackie Trawick of Floyd Home Care, Lori O'Malia of Heyman Hospice Care at Floyd, Lily Davis of Riverwood Retirement, Laurie Chandler of Bonner Center for Community Engagement at Berry College, Linda Russell of Winthrop West, and Ruth Grimes, Community Volunteer. The Family Champion and Ambassador for 2010 will be Randy Davis, local radio station owner.
